Peer Review Process

A manuscript submitted to Journal of Progressive Science Education undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editorial Board. If the article aligns with the journal’s scope and meets requirements for originality, novelty, sufficiency of data, and format, at least 2 (two) peer reviewers are assigned to review the manuscript through a Double Anonymous Peer Review Process. Following the review process, the assigned editor makes a preliminary decision regarding the article. If revisions are needed, the manuscript is returned to the authors for modifications. After revisions, the editor makes the final decision (acceptance or rejection). Each manuscript is assessed based on both substantial and technical aspects.

Authors may recommend potential reviewers in the cover letter. The journal editors will verify that there are no conflicts of interest before contacting these reviewers and avoid those with competing interests. Reviewers are required to declare any conflicts of interest. Authors can also list potential peer reviewers they wish to exclude from the review process during the initial submission. The editorial team will honor these requests as long as they do not compromise the objective and thorough evaluation of the submission. The assignment of peer reviewers is based on their expertise and experience in research and publication relevant to the manuscript’s field. The number of citations and the h-index of potential reviewers are examples of parameters considered when selecting reviewers.
